View this post on Instagram 今年は皆さんと集まることは叶いませんでしたが、今日は「ハサミの日」です。 ハサミを使う人にとってゆかりのある『ハサミの日』なんです。 ハサミに感謝をし、技術向上を祈願するという意味があり、山野では毎年、ハ(8)サ(3)ミ(3)にちなんで午後３時に増上寺にて『ハサミ供養法要』を行っています。 写真は去年のものです。 We cannot gather as we normally do but today is “Hasami No Hi” Hasami no hi means day of the scissors and is a day we give thanks. Each year on August 3rd at 3:00pm the service begins. (In Japanese scissors are referred to as HASAMI. The reading can also mean the numbers 8, 3 & 3. Therefore the month is August, the day is the 3rd and time is 3:00). It’s usually eaten at campfires in America. First, you heat up a marshmallow over an open flame. Then you add the warm marshmallow and a piece of chocolate in between 2 graham crackers!
